An open-topped tub for the things used every morning, so nothing has to be dug out from under a lid. Rosette is cut from solid Burmese padauk or black walnut, carved with a repeating rosette border, and has handles worked into the two short sides so a whole routine moves in one hand.

• Padauk runs from orange-red to deep brick and mellows with age; walnut varies in grain and colour from piece to piece.
• Carved detail is positioned by hand, so placement varies slightly.
• Measurements are taken by hand; allow around 0.5 cm (0.2 in).
• Wipe with a dry cloth. Keep away from radiators, damp and direct sunlight.
